• Manage care for women experiencing normal pregnancies, identifying risks and referring complications appropriately.
• Backup care planning, implementation, and evaluation in strict accordance with organizational policies and guidelines.
• Promote breastfeeding and adhere to baby-friendly hospital initiatives.
• Practise within competence boundaries, integrating evidence-based care throughout the continuum from first contact to discharge.
• Monitor patient conditions proactively, initiating urgent care responses and referrals as needed.
• Advocate for patients’ rights maintaining confidentiality and dignity across diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Administer medications safely, track adverse reactions, and follow narcotic control policies meticulously.
• Respond to emergencies per established hospital protocols and maintain a cost-effective approach in resource use.
• Document care accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records ensuring adherence to standards.
• Participate in quality improvement measures, including policy development, audits, and clinical research to advance care standards.
• Ensure workplace safety, infection control, and compliance with all regulatory patient safety goals and incident reporting procedures.
• Conduct patient and family education tailored to their needs, fostering informed healthcare decisions.
• Support a positive, effective learning environment for staff development and complete required competency training annually.
• Contribute to institutional development and uphold health and safety regulations consistently.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid DOH Midwife license.
