Role Overview
Astra ProMed is recruiting a Consultant in Family Medicine for a full-time position based in Qatar. The role is ideal for a clinician who brings solid specialist experience and a strong commitment to holistic, patient-focused primary care. The selected doctor will provide broad-spectrum medical support across all age groups, with emphasis on prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of both acute and chronic conditions.
Core Duties
- Deliver comprehensive primary healthcare to children, adults, and older patients.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage both short-term and long-term medical conditions using current clinical standards.
- Carry out routine checkups, preventive screenings, and annual wellness evaluations.
- Create personalized treatment plans and arrange specialist referrals when clinically needed.
- Encourage preventive care through health education, immunization support, and lifestyle guidance.
- Oversee chronic disease care for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and cardiovascular disorders.
- Record patient information accurately and promptly in line with hospital procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support continuity and coordination of care.
- Take part in audits, quality enhancement activities, CME, and departmental discussions.
- Guide junior doctors and help strengthen clinical services.
Qualifications and Experience
- A recognized specialist qualification in Family Medicine such as MD, DNB, MRCGP, Arab Board, or an equivalent credential.
- Board certification or another accepted consultant-level qualification in Family Medicine.
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience after specialization at consultant level.
- Must be eligible for Qatar medical licensure, or able to obtain it.
- Strong clinical capability in primary care, prevention, chronic disease management, and family-centered practice.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people skills.
- Clear dedication to evidence-based, high-quality patient care.
Preferred Profile
Applicants with PQR Tier 1 or Tier 2 status will be preferred. Prior work in internationally accredited hospitals or primary healthcare centers is also highly desirable.
