Job description
Role Overview
An established healthcare provider in Qatar is looking for an accomplished Consultant Periodontist to join its dental team on a full-time basis. The role involves advanced diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of periodontal conditions, along with both surgical and non-surgical care delivered in a modern, well-equipped dental setting focused on high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage diseases of the gums and the tissues that support the teeth.
- Carry out advanced periodontal treatments such as scaling and root planing, flap surgery, gingival grafting, bone grafting, guided tissue regeneration, crown lengthening, and soft tissue augmentation.
- Place dental implants, restore them, and address any complications related to implant treatment.
- Build detailed treatment plans together with general dentists, prosthodontists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, and other specialists.
- Guide patients on preventive oral care, long-term periodontal maintenance, and post-procedure recovery instructions.
- Keep complete and accurate clinical records while following infection prevention, quality assurance, and patient safety protocols.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case reviews, CME activities, clinical audits, and continuous quality improvement work.
- Support and mentor junior dental professionals and help maintain high clinical standards within the department.
Requirements
- A DDS or BDS degree, followed by an accepted postgraduate specialist qualification in Periodontics such as MDS, MSD, DClinDent, PhD, or an equivalent credential.
- Board certification or another formally recognized consultant-level qualification in Periodontics.
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience after specialization at consultant level.
- Must be eligible for, or capable of obtaining, Qatar medical or dental licensure.
- Strong hands-on experience in periodontal surgery, implant dentistry, and full-spectrum periodontal treatment.
- Well-developed clinical judgment, communication ability, and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-focused dental practice.
- Preference will be given to professionals qualified under PQR Tier 1 or Tier 2.
- Prior work experience in internationally accredited hospitals, dental centers, or multispecialty clinics is preferred.
- Additional fellowship training or certification in Implant Dentistry will be considered an advantage.
