Job description
About the role
Join a globally recognized blockchain company that operates one of the largest crypto exchanges by trading volume and user base. The organization serves hundreds of millions of users across more than 100 countries, with a focus on secure trading, transparent user-fund handling, fast execution, deep liquidity, and a wide suite of digital-asset services spanning trading, finance, education, research, payments, institutional solutions, and Web3.
This position focuses on geofencing compliance and restricted-location risk. You will review IP geolocation activity, analyze possible circumvention attempts, and help strengthen controls that protect the platform and its users.
What you will do
- Investigate IP geolocation cases using both internal and external data, evaluate signs of location circumvention, and record conclusions in line with audit and compliance expectations.
- Refer complex or elevated-risk matters with a clear explanation and evidence-based reasoning.
- Keep case records complete and accurate by documenting decisions, supporting material, and follow-up actions in the case management platform.
- Assist with governance work, quality checks, and process-improvement efforts that enhance geofencing control effectiveness.
- Contribute to remediation efforts, control testing, and investigations tied to restricted-location exposure and geofencing controls.
- Work with partners across Operations, Product, and Business teams to resolve issues and improve controls.
What we’re looking for
You should bring at least 2 years of experience in financial crime or sanctions compliance, along with a solid grasp of compliance obligations, sanctions risk, control frameworks, and current regulatory and industry practices. Familiarity with banking operations, processes, procedures, and systems is also expected.
A university degree is required. Professional certifications such as ACAMS or ACFCS are considered an advantage. Experience in a startup or fintech environment is also a plus.
The role calls for strong analytical and investigative thinking, especially when making risk-based decisions and judging context instead of relying on rigid rules. You should also be able to write clearly and professionally, presenting complex findings in a concise and accurate way. Success in this role requires strong time management, the ability to handle multiple priorities independently, and comfort working in a fast-moving, high-volume setting. A proactive, confident mindset is important, particularly when identifying unclear issues, control gaps, or improvement opportunities.
