About the Role and Employer

We are currently seeking a dedicated Facilities Supervisor to oversee operations at the North Resource Centre and Blaenau Gwent Clinics.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and support facilities teams at multiple community health sites, ensuring effective day-to-day operations.
- Supervise cleaning, catering, portering, and other support services while adhering to NHS Wales standards and internal Health Board policies.
- Conduct frequent site visits, working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to maintain excellence in facilities management.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, infection control standards, and service quality benchmarks.
- Monitor stock and resource levels to guarantee smooth service delivery.
- Manage staff performance, including attendance, training programs, and development opportunities.
- Respond promptly to operational challenges with effective solutions.
Working Hours and Environment
The role requires working Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:00. All Health Board grounds are smoke-free, with strict policies prohibiting smoking on any site area.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: NVQ Level 3 in supervision or equivalent proven experience, Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety, Basic Health & Safety certification, knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, and manual handling.
- Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning or Catering, Level 3 Food Hygiene, certifications in Health & Safety and ECDL IT, awareness of NHS cleaning techniques and nutritional standards for hospital inpatients.
- Experience in cleaning and catering sectors, ability to train and motivate staff, meet deadlines, and conduct risk assessments.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong leadership and motivational skills with an ability to work cooperatively across management levels.
- Proficient IT skills and capability to work under pressure with flexibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, promoting positive relationships with staff and customers.
- Ability to manage confidentiality, security, and maintain high standards of professionalism.
- Willingness to work independently, including lone working and traveling between sites.
