Job description
Overview
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Physiotherapy Department at Nevill Hall Hospital as a part-time Administrative and Clerical Officer. The position demands strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the capacity to manage a busy clinical administration environment effectively over 22.5 hours weekly, spread across Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the administration lead and clerical team to prioritize and manage workload efficiently.
- Maintain excellent communication skills, especially providing compassionate telephone contact with patients, parents, carers, and healthcare professionals.
- Handle sensitive or complex issues with discretion and understanding, particularly around safeguarding concerns.
- Adapt to changing work procedures and embrace continuous improvement aligned with best practice standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Proven ability to operate well within team settings as well as independently.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Experience in an office environment, ideally with exposure to healthcare or social care settings.
- Flexibility to travel between Trust sites if needed.
- Physical capability to handle manual tasks required by the role.
Desirable Qualifications and Traits
- Ability to speak Welsh is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience working with patient administration systems such as Myrddin or WelshPAS.
- Skills in internet use, database design, spreadsheets, and working effectively under pressure.
- Good negotiation skills.
Education
Strong command of English language combined with basic mathematics competency is required.
