Role Overview
As a Communications Manager for YouTube Ads, you will engage diverse audiences—including users, customers, business leaders, and key opinion leaders—by promoting the benefits of Google and YouTube’s digital advertising solutions. These offerings enhance the open internet, mobile devices, connected TVs, and other platforms by connecting people, creators, advertisers, and Google with cutting-edge technology.
Working within the Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) team, your role focuses on managing various strategic YouTube ads product communications amidst continuous innovation and rapid growth. You will need a blend of creativity and organizational ability to handle multiple projects with demanding deadlines while fostering media relationships and collaborating cross-functionally with PR, marketing, and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with product and business leaders to develop compelling brand stories.
- Formulate detailed media strategies and customized positioning plans for YouTube ads products targeting different stakeholder groups.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with trade press, influencers, and industry thought leaders.
- Create diverse content including blog posts, talking points, Q&As, and social media messages to support communications goals.
- Provide strategic media coaching and prepare leadership for high-profile press interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years’ experience in public relations, media relations, or executive/internal communications within technology sectors.
- Preferred: Knowledge of digital advertising and streaming ecosystems with established media contacts.
- Ability to work creatively and effectively across teams to resolve challenges.
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Skill in simplifying complex product launches into clear, accessible narratives for business and trade media.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Compensation
Annual base salary range for this role in the USA is $141,000 - $205,000 USD, supplemented by a 15% target bonus, equity options, and benefits.
