We're seeking a Communications Manager for Policy & Public Affairs to craft and lead narratives that influence how crypto is perceived by the public, press, and policymakers. This pivotal role shapes Coinbase's approach to high-stakes regulatory and legislative events, translating intricate policy details into compelling stories that garner public support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication strategies for significant legislative and regulatory initiatives, ensuring a unified, clear voice for Coinbase.
• Collaborate with legal and policy teams to simplify complex regulatory filings and litigation into accessible public narratives.
• Lead earned media efforts by working closely with top political, financial, and technology journalists to secure proactive and responsive coverage.
• Manage digital communications on platforms like X to engage policymakers, thought leaders, and the crypto community directly.
• Craft advocacy communications that highlight the consumer impact of innovative policies to legislators and regulators.
• Reinforce Coinbase's reputation as the most trusted crypto leader over multiple election and regulatory cycles.

Required Skills and Experience

• More than seven years of experience in high-stakes political communications, including roles in Congressional offices, political campaigns, or rapid-response agencies.
• Proven ability to serve as a spokesperson handling national media inquiries with disciplined, consistent messaging.
• Successful track record of influencing news cycles and public opinion through digital platforms like X, supported by measurable results.
• Strong understanding of the US regulatory and legislative environment with skill in translating complex policy into clear public messaging.
• Established relationships with Tier 1 political and financial journalists resulting in significant earned media coverage.
• Responsible use of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining human oversight.

Compensation and Additional Information

The annual base salary ranges from $170,765 to $200,900 (USD), depending on location, exclusive of potential equity, bonuses, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Candidates may submit up to a maximum of three applications within a six-month period.
