Role Overview

Book of the Month seeks a manager passionate about shaping the brand's presence beyond digital platforms. This role combines innovative creativity with meticulous attention to detail to oversee brand collaborations, partnerships, and event management. The ideal candidate will think both strategically and tactically, agilely adapting based on data insights to lead impactful initiatives that elevate the brand's reputation and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the comprehensive planning and execution of events including brand partnership activations, literary festivals, and author book launches.
  • Maintain project schedules, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and approvals are adhered to.
  • Facilitate clear interdepartmental communication with teams such as Creative, Growth, Product, Operations, and Editorial.
  • Manage budgets, contracts, production logistics, and onsite event coordination while optimizing costs.
  • Act as the primary liaison for partners, vendors, collaborators, and agencies to ensure smooth event execution aligned with brand objectives.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of event, partnership, and sponsorship opportunities, appraising each for strategic value and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive marketing strategies and create social media content for partnerships and events to heighten brand visibility among target audiences including members, industry partners, and paid channels.
  • Generate detailed recaps and reports, setting KPIs and deriving actionable insights to inform future initiatives aligning with brand and growth ambitions.
  • Represent Book of the Month professionally at industry events, building and nurturing relationships with partners and cultural influencers.
  • Engage with media, journalists, and tastemakers to secure press coverage that enhances brand and campaign objectives.
  • Bridge collaboration between Growth and Editorial teams to meet targets related to membership expansion and industry relations.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in brand partnerships, event management, public relations, or experiential marketing with a consumer brand focus.
  • Exceptional creative judgment and sensibility for events and partnerships that resonate with the audience.
  • Established network of contacts within consumer brands and industry stakeholders.
  • Proven relationship-building skills to enhance the brand's profile across diverse sectors.
  • Experience in transforming customer insights into engaging event or partnership concepts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical abilities to evaluate performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of independently managing projects from conception through execution.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, iterative work environment managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Commitment to high-quality standards and keen attention to detail.
  • Passion for reading and contemporary fiction.
  • Desirable knowledge of the publishing industry including publishers, imprints, and book market dynamics.
  • Preferably experienced in social media management or content creation.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually.
