Business Operations Senior Associate, Institutional

Role overview

Coinbase is hiring a Business Operations Senior Associate for the Business Operations & Strategy function within the Institutional organization. In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders on the company’s most important strategic and operational priorities. The position is centered on partnering with Institutional product and sales leadership, breaking down complex business issues, developing quantitative cases, and turning analysis into recommendations that inform product and segment direction.

Coinbase operates with a remote-first approach, though not exclusively remote. Team members should expect quarterly in-person collaboration sessions known as “surges.”

Key responsibilities

• Take broad, complex strategy problems and structure them into clear workstreams, then use data and quantitative analysis to support practical recommendations for leadership.
• Create financial models and business cases that surface new opportunities and directly influence Institutional product decisions and go-to-market planning.
• Build a strong understanding of competitor positioning, peer comparisons, and the evolving crypto market so strategic guidance is well grounded.
• Plan and run experiments that test assumptions, evaluate impact, and drive measurable improvements across Institutional products.
• Manage initiatives from problem definition through analysis, recommendation, and execution rather than stopping at presentation materials.
• Improve how the team works by refining processes, frameworks, and operational tools.

Experience and qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or product strategy, with evidence of owning end-to-end strategic work.
• Demonstrated ability to build quantitative models and business cases that have influenced decisions made by executives or senior leaders.
• Working familiarity with institutional finance, capital markets, or crypto/digital asset markets.
• Proven strength in delivering concise written and verbal recommendations to senior stakeholders in uncertain, fast-changing environments.
• Exposure to SQL and BI platforms such as Hex, Superset, or Looker, or to crypto analytics tools such as Dune Analytics or Etherscan, is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to use generative AI responsibly, with human review, to produce business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Compensation and benefits

The role includes an annual base salary range of USD 148,835 to USD 175,100, excluding equity and bonus. Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k).
