Job description
Role overview
Coinbase is looking for a Specialist in Market Operations to support critical exchange functions across the Coinbase Derivatives Exchange (CDE) and Coinbase International Exchange (INTX). This role sits in a 24/7 environment that keeps trading and clearing systems dependable for clients and internal teams. You will be expected to work independently on live production issues, partner across teams to resolve complex incidents, and contribute to testing that safeguards production stability.
Coinbase operates with a remote-first approach, while also bringing teams together every quarter for focused in-person working sessions known as “surges.” The company emphasizes high standards, urgency, and a strong drive to improve how financial systems operate.
What you'll do
- Provide immediate functional and technical support for electronic trading, clearing systems, and exchange applications across CDE and INTX.
- Handle customer questions about exchange behavior, market events, connectivity, product timing, and business technology topics.
- Take the lead on frontline investigations for internal and external exchange issues, including analysis and resolution of error trades.
- Work with product and engineering teams to introduce new products, roll out platform changes, and complete pre-production deployment testing.
- Assist with client and vendor onboarding, including connectivity setup and triage of operational issues.
- Spot and propose process improvements that support growth and improve exchange reliability.
Required experience and qualifications
- BA/BS in Information Systems, Economics, Finance, or a closely related technical discipline, plus at least 1 year of experience in financial markets operations or a technical operations function.
- Strong working knowledge of listed futures or options, including practical experience with error trade review and resolution.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex live production incidents across trading and clearing systems and explain root cause and corrective actions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting high-volume work through multiple channels such as voice, email, and chat while maintaining quality under time-sensitive conditions.
- Exposure to prediction markets, event contracts, FIX protocol, SQL, or CRM platforms such as Salesforce and JIRA.
- Comfort using generative AI responsibly, with human oversight, to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary for this role is targeted at £81,630 to £90,700 per year, before equity and bonus opportunities. Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage.
