Chief Strategy and Investment Officer

Role Overview

The Chief Strategy and Investment Officer will serve as a pivotal executive within a cutting-edge renewable energy firm, overseeing long-term growth, corporate development, and strategic capital deployment. Reporting to the CEO and collaborating closely with senior leadership, this role blends strategic vision with practical execution across project financing, mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, and renewable infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement comprehensive growth and investment strategies to accelerate company expansion.
• Lead infrastructure financing efforts, including project finance, tax equity, debt, and private capital arrangements.
• Identify and execute mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments to strengthen market position.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with institutional investors, infrastructure funds, financial institutions, and strategic collaborators.
• Manage joint venture strategies and governance while fostering long-term enterprise value growth.
• Develop commercial strategies to optimize value from renewable natural gas and environmental commodity portfolios.
• Assess emerging market opportunities, carbon reduction initiatives, and strategies related to low-carbon fuels.
• Collaborate with executive teams across operations, finance, and commercial areas to prioritize growth initiatives and support comprehensive business planning.
• Present investment proposals and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 12 years in senior leadership roles involving infrastructure private equity, investment banking, corporate development, strategy consulting, or renewable energy sectors.
• Proven expertise in managing complex project financing, acquisitions, and strategic investments successfully.
• Deep commercial insight into renewable energy, biofuels, renewable natural gas, or other low-carbon infrastructure industries.
• Experience engaging with institutional investors, private equity firms, lenders, and strategic partners.
• Strong abilities in financial modeling, commercial negotiation, and executing transactions.
• Familiarity with environmental markets and regulatory frameworks such as carbon intensity programs, LCFS (Low Carbon Fuel Standard), RINs, or analogous schemes is highly desirable.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field is required; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is favored.
