Job description

Overview

NU Advisory Partners is conducting the search for a Chief Product Officer at a growth equity-backed healthcare technology firm. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leader will be responsible for defining the product vision and developing the roadmap. The role involves advancing an AI-powered platform with a focus on scalability and self-service enhancement, along with establishing a robust product management organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the long-term product vision and roadmap aligned with business strategy and investment priorities, collaborating closely with the CEO and board.
  • Identify and prioritize platform expansion opportunities, considering adjacent use cases, new customer segments, and data-driven enhancements.
  • Develop success metrics and a measurement framework to guide disciplined product investments and ensure outcome-driven decisions.
  • Translate product strategy into clear business outcomes for executive and board stakeholders.
  • Drive the AI-based platform's evolution toward more self-service features and reduce dependence on professional services.
  • Improve onboarding and implementation time-to-value by pinpointing and resolving process bottlenecks with product-led solutions.
  • Develop pricing and packaging strategies to strengthen commercial relationships and maximize revenue across offerings.
  • Partner with engineering to coordinate requirements, discovery processes, and delivery routines that ensure rapid and high-quality execution.
  • Recruit and cultivate a high-performing product management team with deep domain expertise, establishing operational cadences and communication frameworks for scalable product management.
  • Foster a culture emphasizing customer insight and product ownership, minimizing internal assumptions in decision-making.
  • Evaluate and enhance the product marketing function, either by internal development or strategic partnerships.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership to align technical investments with commercial priorities, ensuring clear communication across distributed teams.
  • Serve as a bridge between market demands and technical capabilities, guiding product development toward the highest customer value.
  • Play a central executive role, contributing market and customer perspectives to strategic planning and partnering closely with the CEO.
  • Collaborate with commercial and customer success teams to increase product adoption and grow existing customer relationships.
  • Use customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform product decisions that reinforce the company’s market position.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Over 10 years of product management experience including at least 5 years in senior leadership (VP, SVP, or CPO) within healthcare technology.
  • Strong expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management, with knowledge of clinical coding, documentation improvement, and billing workflows highly valued.
  • Proven experience delivering AI-driven or automation-focused healthcare administrative products.
  • Successful track record in transforming complex platforms for improved usability and self-service while reducing customer and internal implementation efforts.
  • Experience building and leading product organizations in growth-stage businesses.
  • Fluency in applied AI and machine learning concepts relevant to healthcare, capable of engaging and translating tech and market needs.
  • Skilled at working with engineering teams across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Proven capacity to make critical product decisions in competitive and fast-paced markets.
  • Commercially savvy, familiar with SaaS pricing strategies, customer expansion, and product-driven revenue growth.
  • Additional pluses include background in AI-driven clinical workflows, healthcare administrative automation, clinical coding standards, payer compliance, and healthcare regulations.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in healthcare operations is advantageous.
  • Preference for candidates willing to maintain regular presence at East Coast U.S. offices (hybrid work environment).
