About the Role

Dartmouth Partners is collaborating exclusively with a mid-market Private Equity firm to recruit a Chief Financial Officer for a rapidly expanding Consumer retail company located in New Jersey. This company generates revenues approximately $125 million. The role demands a finance executive of board-level caliber who has demonstrated success in value creation, developing finance organizations, and engaging closely with investors within dynamic, growth-driven contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide investor-backed financial leadership, drawing on past experience as a CFO or senior finance professional within private equity or investor-backed firms, adept at handling board expectations, value enhancement initiatives, and exit-oriented schedules.
• Champion operational excellence and meticulous financial reporting standards.
• Guide scaling efforts from $125 million to $200 million by instituting structure, processes, and rigor while maintaining momentum.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives, including ERP system integrations to ensure scalability and real-time decision support.
• Utilize expertise in pricing strategies, cost optimization, and warehouse operations.
• Modernize financial planning and analysis by developing forward-looking FP&A capabilities with comprehensive KPI frameworks to support data-driven choices and improved transparency.
• Forge a strategic partnership with the CEO in shaping and executing company strategy, optimizing procedures, and identifying operational improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Outstanding communication skills and strong executive presence.
• Proven CFO leadership experience in fast-growing organizations.
• Direct participation in M&A transactions and subsequent integration efforts.
• Preferred qualifications include CPA or MBA credentials, paired with solid technical and strategic financial expertise.
• Willingness to lead a team with a commitment to being physically present in the office multiple days per week.
