Job description

About the company

Hospitable builds software that helps short-term rental businesses operate more independently, backed by a polished product and a strong user experience. The company is fully remote, global, and built on trust. It values exceptional people from different backgrounds, geographies, and career paths, and sees that diversity as a core strength. The team works quickly, thinks ambitiously, and ships with purpose.

The business is profitable, international, and structured across multiple entities. The finance leader will report directly to the CEO and will play a central role in shaping the company’s growth, discipline, and long-term value.

Role overview

The company is hiring a Chief Financial Officer to provide top-tier financial leadership and help transform finance into a growth driver. The role is focused on backing the right investments, scaling the business responsibly, and creating durable value for both the team and investors.

What you will own

Capital and growth

  • Take ownership of capital allocation and build the internal and external case for the investments that matter most.
  • Equip leadership with the insight needed to invest confidently while keeping operations profitable as they scale.

The company’s financial future

  • Strengthen the company’s long-term value and the liquidity opportunities that come with it for employees and investors.
  • Represent the company’s finances externally as the main point of contact for investors, partners, banks, and auditors.

A world-class finance function

  • Design, hire, and lead a lean finance organization that uses AI effectively across an international group structure.
  • Define how finance should operate, how it should support the business, and how it earns trust across the company.

Working style and expectations

This is a remote-only role within a distributed organization. A strong day-to-day overlap with both EMEA and US Eastern time zones is required. The role reports to the CEO.

Candidate profile

The company is open to candidates who may not match every requirement, as long as they can clearly explain why they are a strong fit. The team is looking for someone who has led finance at real scale, created long-term value for shareholders, and worked in complex international settings with multiple entities and currencies.

Strong experience with cross-border tax and compliance is important, including US indirect tax. A recognized accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or a locally accredited CPA is expected, along with solid FP&A and financial modelling capability. Success in this role also depends on being highly proactive, owning outcomes, communicating clearly, and working independently in a fast-moving remote environment.

Preferred background

  • Experience with SaaS-enabled marketplaces, including forecasting both transactional GBV and recurring revenue.
  • Exposure to the travel, hospitality, or proptech industries.
  • Experience building a finance team from a founder-led setup into a more institutional-grade function.

Benefits and compensation

  • A supportive, transparent, and caring environment where trust is emphasized over micromanagement and outcomes matter most.
  • Total cash compensation of up to US$312,000 per year, adjusted based on the cost of living in the candidate’s location.
  • International hiring is possible through contractor arrangements, or as an employee if based in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Australia, with payroll taxes factored into gross compensation.
  • A meaningful equity grant through $HOST token RSUs valued at US$436,800, vesting over four years, equal to about US$109,200 per year.
  • For US employees, healthcare coverage including EPO, PPO, and HSA options, plus a 401(k).
  • 35 days of leave annually, including self-service public holidays, along with parental leave.
  • Access to complimentary mental health and emotional support through therapists available on Slack via Spill.

The company encourages candidates to review its Applicant Handbook to learn more about its culture, hiring approach, work style, and what the business does. Public bi-weekly Town Halls are also available on YouTube for those who want a closer look at the team and product.
