About the Role
Wellways Australia is seeking a compassionate and community-oriented Carer Hub Navigator based in Toowoomba, Queensland. This role serves as a vital connection point for carers, providing guidance and access to support through our Carer Gateway Hub. It integrates community development with engagement strategies to enhance awareness and ease of access to essential services for carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the approachable and supportive presence for carers, fostering meaningful relationships that focus on wellbeing and independence.
- Support carers holistically, addressing more than just basic needs to help them reach their full potential.
- Oversee operations at the Gladstone Carer Hub, promoting social interaction, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging.
- Maintain a collaborative approach, working with community groups, health services, schools, aged care, and local government to strengthen local carer support networks.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience supporting family carers in areas such as mental health, substance use, or community services.
- Possession of a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant support discipline, or equivalent experience within the community sector.
- Must hold a current valid Driver's Licence.
- Proficiency with technology and IT skills.
- Current and satisfactory National Police Check within the last 12 months.
- Possession of a Working with Children Check (QLD Blue Card) and NDIS Worker Screening Check (QLD Yellow Card).
- Right to work in Australia.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
