Job description

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Physiotherapist specializing in Cardio-Respiratory care to join our expanding multi-disciplinary team based in Counties Manukau, New Zealand. This is a full-time, onsite position involving participation in acute inpatient care and outpatient services.

Team and Environment

The successful applicant will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals including cardiorespiratory physiotherapy leads, nursing managers, advanced clinician physiotherapists, practitioners, assistants, respiratory nurses, consultants, as well as community and tertiary care partners. Our services encompass treatment of respiratory illnesses such as COPD, asthma, breathing pattern disorders, bronchiectasis, and conditions involving neuromuscular weakness.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver respiratory physiotherapy interventions to youth and adults through various settings including pulmonary rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, and interdisciplinary clinics at multiple sites and community locations.
  • Contribute to the acute on-call and weekend roster for inpatient cardio-respiratory physiotherapy coverage.
  • Engage in credentialing and skill development opportunities offered to enhance clinical expertise.
  • Participate actively in evolving service models aimed at providing timely and accessible respiratory care for the Counties Manukau population.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Physiotherapist in New Zealand holding a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • A valid full and clean New Zealand driver’s license.
  • At least 12 months of practical experience in cardio-respiratory physiotherapy.
  • Desirable: A minimum of 3 years of overall physiotherapy experience.
