Role Overview
This position is for a Business Data Analyst based in Gurgaon, focusing primarily on the insurance domain, particularly Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance. The role involves extensive experience in large-scale data applications, including data analysis, mapping, and transformation tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the connecting link between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Engage actively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from client organizations to comprehend functional and data requirements.
- Perform data profiling to assess data quality and identify critical data elements that require standardization or master data management across systems.
- Create detailed documentation such as data mapping, data lineage, data models, and design documents to aid stakeholders in understanding data transformations and mappings.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Over five years of experience working on large-scale data projects involving data analysis, mapping, and transformation processes.
- Hands-on expertise in Snowflake and relational databases.
- Proficient in SQL and capable of drafting Business Requirement Documents (BRD), gathering requirements, and writing source-to-target mappings (STTM).
- Solid background in data consolidation, transformation, and standardization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, alongside efficient tracking abilities.
- Experience specifically with insurance clients focusing on the Policy and Claims lifecycle as well as reinsurance operations.
- Ability to integrate swiftly into team environments and independently drive tasks aligned with team objectives.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 methodologies and data modeling techniques.
