About the Role
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, internationally renowned for exceptional patient care, education, and research, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Therapeutic Radiographer to join their Pre-treatment team at their Sutton site.
This position offers the unique opportunity to operate within a highly sophisticated cancer center, part of Europe's largest comprehensive cancer institute through partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research. The Pre-treatment team duties encompass mould room operations, using a Siemens Confidence CT scanner, cannulation, and virtual simulation with Raystation technology, a radiographer-led process.
The radiotherapy department is equipped with advanced technology including 6 Elekta Linear Accelerators, 2 Radixact units, a Cyberknife, and an Elekta MR Linac. Digital patient workflows are managed seamlessly via the Mosaiq Smart Clinic system.
This role enables involvement in innovative radiotherapy techniques within a progressive and technology-focused environment aimed at delivering optimal patient outcomes.
This is a part-time role, offering 0.6 WTE (3 working days per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate pre-treatment radiotherapy services including mould room, CT scanning, cannulation, and virtual simulation.
- Collaborate with medical, physics, nursing, clerical, and support teams throughout the Trust.
- Manage and support the implementation of radiographer-led initiatives and procedures within the department.
- Liaise closely with superintendent radiographers to ensure smooth service delivery and high standards of patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a therapeutic radiographer, with capability to lead in a pre-treatment setting.
- Competency in operating key radiotherapy equipment and software, including Siemens Confidence CT scanner, Raystation, and Mosaiq Smart Clinic.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Motivation to work in a technologically advanced environment with a commitment to patient-centered care.
