Job Overview
This position involves full responsibility for managing credit processes from underwriting to securing approvals for a specific portfolio within Wealth Banking. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Group Credit Policy and guidelines while partnering with Coverage and Product teams and clients to create structure and propositions meeting both client needs and bank standards efficiently.
Role Purpose
The objective is to support the bank's goal of leading the GCC market in priority banking, focusing on High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients and their associated corporate entities. These clients often have diverse business interests and investment portfolios across asset classes.
Credit Facilities
Credit facilities provided include a variety of lending structures such as leveraged investments, Lombard facilities, commercial and residential real estate loans, and insurance financing. These are tailored based on loan size, collateral, tenure, and borrower financial strength.
Key Skills and Expectations
- In-depth expertise in collateral valuation and ongoing monitoring.
- Understanding of legal and documentation requirements for various credit types.
- Practical knowledge of capital market instruments, derivatives, and margin rules.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving aptitude, flexibility, and autonomy within a challenging environment.
- Ability to think creatively while maintaining rigorous credit standards.
- Strong partnership approach as part of the second line of defense.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- Preferred qualifications include Chartered Accountant, MBA, CFA, FRM, or similar certifications.
- At least 10 years of relevant banking experience with 4-5 years specializing in credit functions.
- Advanced knowledge of credit products such as Lombard lending, real estate financing, FX, and derivatives.
- Expertise in investment products including bonds, sukuks, equities, mutual funds, and structured notes.
- Capability to analyze financials and personal net worth statements with a business perspective.
- Proficiency in credit structuring and comprehension of legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Able to perform effectively under pressure with strong written and verbal communication skills.
