Role Overview

Our client, an expanding alternative investment firm, is seeking a Vice President of Investments to augment its investment division. This individual will be pivotal in identifying, assessing, and executing investment opportunities across both public and private sectors, concentrating on technology, innovation, and rapidly growing companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess investment prospects in public and private markets.
  • Drive investment deals through thorough financial analysis, due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, negotiations, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to underpin investment evaluations.
  • Draft detailed investment memoranda and deliver presentations to senior management and the Investment Committee.
  • Perform in-depth company, sector, and thematic research to discover new investment trends and prospects.
  • Collaborate with founders and management teams of portfolio companies to promote strategic growth initiatives.
  • Track portfolio company performance and spot opportunities for additional investments.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with founders, investment bankers, co-investors, and key market participants to enhance deal sourcing.
  • Guide and mentor junior members of the investment team, contributing to their ongoing development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of seven years’ investing experience within venture capital, growth equity, private equity, hedge funds, family offices, or other alternative investment vehicles.
  • Proven track record of leading investments from initial deal sourcing through to execution.
  • Exceptional skills in financial modeling, valuation, and underwriting investments.
  • Experience investing across both public and private markets is highly desirable.
  • A strong passion for technology, artificial intelligence, software, and innovation-driven sectors.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, communication prowess, and presentation skills.
  • Capacity to excel within a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-moving investment environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced qualifications such as an MBA or CFA are preferred.
