Overview

Goldman Sachs’ Global Banking & Markets division handles market making and clearing client transactions across global stock, options, and futures exchanges. The Operations division supports banking, securities, and asset management services worldwide, offering critical risk management and controls to protect the firm's assets and reputation. Operations develop and maintain processes and controls to enable smooth business flow for every trade and new product.

Credit Settlements Team Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of credit-related risks globally within the Credit Business.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Trading teams to uphold Operational Risk and Control Framework.
  • Match all trades and perform checkout of exotic transactions.
  • Facilitate new business activities and draft trade documentation.
  • Confirm economic and legal trade terms with clients through electronic and paper mediums.
  • Manage settlement processes for trades.

Your Role and Impact

The role requires a motivated professional with strong interest in Credit. You will engage actively with Credit Sales and Trading Desks to ensure accuracy of both Derivative and Physical Trading risks. You'll drive and implement process enhancements to optimally manage risks in a complex regulatory setting.

  • Gain in-depth understanding of Credit and derivative transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve booking discrepancies in complex derivative business lines.
  • Experience with Credit Confirmations and Settlements processes is essential.
  • Maintain daily communication with Trading & Sales to promptly address discrepancies.
  • Handle daily client communications effectively.
  • Coordinate with front office and technology teams to address and resolve technical production issues.
  • Monitor and investigate reporting breaks and operational process failures; implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously review and improve processes to manage risk while meeting expectations for timeliness, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Understand Credit markets, products, and basic financial concepts and terminology.
  • Approve post-trade processing and settlements for Credit and derivative transactions.
  • Oversee risk escalation and management of breaks and issues.
  • Manage key stakeholders across various internal teams including Operations, Sales, Trading, and Engineering.
  • Understand key characteristics of derivative products such as expiration, strike, and premium.
  • Possess high-level knowledge of ISDA terms.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a competitive GPA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Strong technical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Consistent attention to detail in prior roles.
  • Experience interpreting and dissecting complex structured products is advantageous.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of managing difficult requests and building long-term business relationships.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proactive self-starter who anticipates questions, explores alternatives, and sets clear objectives.
