Job description

Role overview

The Asset & Wealth Management division at Goldman Sachs manages both traditional and alternative investment strategies for a wide range of clients, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurers, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals. With roughly $3.6 trillion in assets under supervision, the business combines global reach with a strong emphasis on partnership, client service, integrity and high standards.

Within this division, the Public Investing team focuses on public-market opportunities across asset classes, including equities, fixed income and multi-asset allocation. The Performance Strategy group supports leadership across Public Investing by helping track investment results, study investment processes and drive strategic initiatives that sit across the broader investing organization.

This position offers exposure to public markets across multiple asset classes, regular interaction with investors and senior stakeholders, and the chance to contribute to work that improves decision-making and supports investment excellence on a global platform.

What you will do

  • Track and review fund performance across the Public Investing platform, flagging unusual results and examining attribution and portfolio activity.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions with the appropriate stakeholders after performance reviews.
  • Prepare performance materials for senior management, fund boards, governance groups and other global stakeholders.
  • Translate performance data into practical insights that support decision-making.
  • Contribute to process improvements for performance monitoring and help strengthen the team’s operating model.
  • Partner with the engineering team to design, test and implement enhancements to performance monitoring tools and workflows.
  • Broaden competitive analysis, assess results against client expectations and evaluate the quality of returns.
  • Support expansion of the team’s coverage and contribute to strategic projects that add value across the business.

What we are looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Evidence of interest in markets through prior work, CFA progress or relevant coursework.
  • Strong numerical and data-analysis capability.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and comfort managing several priorities at once.
  • The ability to think strategically about the wider business context.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong project management and relationship-building skills.
  • A curious, creative and adaptable mindset, with the confidence to think quickly in a high-impact role connecting performance, governance and strategy.
