Company Overview

Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha is presented as a distinctive luxury lifestyle property in Doha, offering warm hospitality, lively entertainment, and premium all-inclusive food and beverage experiences. The hotel features 378 elegantly designed guest rooms, along with a refined and comfortable atmosphere. This role offers the opportunity to join an energetic team and grow a career in hospitality sales.

Role Summary

The Assistant Director of Sales will focus on driving business from the government and corporate segments, supporting account development, market coverage, and coordination with hotel operations to help achieve sales objectives.

Key Duties

  • Identify potential accounts, set objectives for key clients, and build customer action plans using historical trends and statistical analysis.
  • Represent the hotel or region at domestic and international trade fairs in line with the hotel’s business and marketing plan, working with regional or corporate sales teams as needed.
  • Prioritize sales efforts toward the domestic market, including local travel trade and corporate clients.
  • Develop the international market in close coordination with the Country Director of Sales, following internal policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate room availability for busy periods, while final approval remains with hotel operations management.
  • Maintain a balanced market mix to protect product quality and reduce dependence on any single long-term market.
  • Hold regular coordination meetings with Rooms Division, Reservations, and Food & Beverage teams to share information and resolve issues.
  • Reduce administrative effort while completing at least 5 to 7 in-person sales or courtesy calls and 10 telephone sales or courtesy calls per day.
  • Ensure all incoming communication such as enquiries, requests, offers, and confirmations is handled and answered promptly.

Additional Responsibilities and Conditions

  • Track monthly vacation and public holiday balances for the team and submit a consolidated report to the Director of HR each month.
  • Stay familiar with company documentation, especially the relevant Operational Standards Manual for the role.
  • Serve as Duty Manager when rostered.
  • Support task force teams for new hotel openings when required.
  • Execute any other reasonable assignment requested by management.
  • Press releases, public relations activity, and advertisements are managed and coordinated by the Country Director of Sales.
  • Electronic distribution systems are updated regularly by the hotel operations team.

Qualification

The role requires a Master’s degree in Marketing or a diploma in vocational hospitality, along with 8 to 10 years of experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment.
