Job description
Role Overview
An educational organisation is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to help with tax administration, treasury tasks, and wider financial governance work. The position includes hands-on support with reconciliations, compliance monitoring, records handling, and assistance across tax submissions, bank reconciliations, and month-end activities.
This opportunity is best suited to someone who is careful, organised, and interested in developing further experience in a professional finance setting. The assignment is offered on an initial contract basis and is available for an immediate commencement.
Key Duties
- Assist with treasury and banking operations, including transaction postings, cashflow monitoring, and account reconciliations.
- Support compliance work relating to VAT, RCT, and PSWT, while keeping track of relevant deadlines.
- Contribute to governance, audit preparation, and policy documentation.
- Provide day-to-day administrative and financial reporting support.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bring 2–3 years of relevant finance experience.
- Demonstrate strong organisational ability and close attention to detail.
- Be comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Work well to deadlines and communicate clearly.
