Appeals Specialist (L4) - HR Appeals Team

Role Overview

This temporary, seasonal position is integral to the Amazon Experience and Technology Departures team, providing expert support throughout the employee appeals process. Situated within the HR division, the role demands confidentiality, ethical conduct, and a commitment to continuous process improvement within a dynamic environment.

Primary Duties

• Analyze appeal cases by identifying documentation required and evaluating accuracy and compliance with company policies and precedents.
• Detect procedural flaws and suggest corrective measures.
• Investigate disciplinary actions by reviewing evidence and testimonies to ascertain consistent application of policies.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum three years in HR or shared service centers.
• Strong computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
• Ability to manage customer interactions effectively under pressure and maintain professionalism with senior leaders.
• Experience handling sensitive data confidentially and excelling in high-volume, fast-moving environments.
• Passion for delivering excellent customer service combined with analytical thinking, detailed orientation, and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Over four years of HR/shared services experience.
• Familiarity with databases such as NoSQL and technologies like Hive, Spark, HBase, and Yarn.
• Experience in HR systems and processes.
• Proficiency working with multilingual speech and text data.
