Role Overview
If you have enthusiasm for food and a knack for problem-solving, join the Merchant Operations Business Analytics (MOBA) team as a Business Analyst. This role focuses on driving superior research, analysis, and innovation in grocery shopping to enhance customer experience worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and oversee dashboards to report on business metrics, evaluating the impact of omnichannel pricing and promotions for strategic decisions.
- Develop advanced SQL queries to extract and analyze data related to pricing, promotions, purchasing patterns, and customer insights, understanding the extensive data resources available within the company.
- Translate raw data and BI dashboards into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations.
- Present findings through compelling data visualizations and presentations to stakeholders.
- Address novel and challenging business questions, applying innovative analytical techniques.
- Keep current with evolving analytics methodologies and trends.
Team Context
The MOBA team operates within the larger category management function, focusing on assortment, pricing, promotions, and P&L influencing decisions. Collaboration extends across technology teams, economists, marketing, customer insights, and other grocery stakeholders, all aligned with advancing the grocery sector vision.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- At least 5 years using Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, and power pivots) and data visualization platforms like Tableau.
- 3+ years in business or financial analysis.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proven ability to define business requirements and extract actionable insights from data and metrics.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience influencing stakeholders through business recommendations.
Preferred Experience
- Over 5 years working as a business analyst or data analyst.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) with Excel or Tableau for data manipulation, macros, visualizations, and pivot tables.
