Position overview
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is seeking an Administrative Assistant IV to support the Director of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, as well as the wider HR team within the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. The role combines advanced administrative coordination with sensitive HR support, including day-to-day liaison work, scheduling, document handling, and assistance with recruitment and onboarding activities in Workday.
What you will do
In this position, you will work independently to help resolve questions and issues, coordinate calendars and appointments, serve as a point of contact between the director, department staff, and outside representatives, and keep key information moving to the right people. The job also includes preparing reports and correspondence, researching information, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls and meetings, managing purchasing-related tasks, and supporting confidential HR workflows.
Minimum background needed
The university requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus four years of progressively responsible, relevant experience. Qualifying experience may include administrative or program support for professional staff and management, secretarial support for a manager, coordination between managers, staff, and clients, supervision of subordinate staff, or research using internal and external sources. An alternative route is one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada state service, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
Preferred background
Helpful experience includes work in human resources, familiarity with Workday HCM processes such as hiring, onboarding, and report generation, as well as exposure to academic healthcare and higher education environments.

Salary and employment details
This is a classified, full-time position with a 100% full-time equivalent. The listed salary is Grade 29, Step 1, at $50,153.76 per year. Initial classified appointments typically begin at Step 1 under Nevada Administrative Code.
