Job description

Role Summary

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is hiring a Regional Recruiter focused on Florida for undergraduate recruitment. This remote position is based in Florida and reports to the Assistant Director of Regional & College Recruitment in the Office of Admissions.

The role serves as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, working across Admissions, Financial Aid, academic departments, and other university partners. The main goal is to support outreach, recruitment, and enrollment of prospective undergraduate and graduate students.

Key Duties

  • Carry out outreach and student recruitment efforts within assigned regions.
  • Travel within the designated state region and to out-of-state markets when needed.
  • Visit high schools, community colleges, and other related events and venues.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver a personal recruitment calendar.
  • Advise students and families on academic options and educational pathways.
  • Design, implement, assess, and improve recruitment programs, special projects, and events.
  • Work with admissions event staff on initiatives aimed at targeted student populations.
  • Review recruitment and retention trends to help shape strategy.
  • Deliver presentations in settings such as parent nights, schools, colleges, and public forums.
  • Create and share promotional and informational materials for recruitment and retention.
  • Evaluate individual applications and determine admission eligibility.
  • Resolve application issues and maintain applicant communication.
  • Keep accurate records of outreach activity and contacts.
  • Support additional student services projects and events as assigned.
  • Work toward annual recruitment goals.

Additional Expectations

The recruiter is expected to help execute a regional marketing plan created by Undergraduate Admissions leadership. The person in this role should monitor changes affecting target student populations, identify barriers to recruitment and admission, and take initiative to respond to those challenges.

Because this is an Academic Affairs role, the position supports UNLV’s mission of increasing enrollment, improving equitable student success, strengthening retention and progression, and helping students complete degrees on time.

The university expects the selected candidate to reflect its values in day-to-day work, including professionalism, collaboration, ethical conduct, transparency, inclusion, and compliance with UNLV, NSHE, and State policies and laws. Evening, weekend, irregular-hour work, and occasional travel may be required.

Application Notes

Applicants should be prepared to submit all required attachments at the start of the process, since progress cannot be saved once the application begins. Applications without the required documents will not be reviewed. All materials must be submitted before the recruitment closes.

Once the search closes, no new applications will be accepted. Questions about the process may be directed to Human Resources at (702) 895-3504 or unlvjobs@unlv.edu.

To apply, candidates must provide a letter of interest, a detailed resume showing qualifications and experience, and contact details for at least three professional references. References will only be contacted after advance notice from the search chair. Applicants should clearly address both minimum and preferred qualifications in their materials, and submissions should be directed to the Search Committee Chair.

This position is open until filled, but the first review of applications is scheduled to begin on July 31, 2026. Applications must be submitted electronically through Workday; emailed materials will not be accepted.

Internal UNLV and NSHE applicants must use Workday’s internal “Find Jobs” process and search using requisition number R0152116. Applications filed outside the internal process may be returned and could delay consideration.

Qualifications and Eligibility

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or CHEA, along with 1 to 3 years of related professional experience. Credentials must be completed before the start date.

UNLV may also consider equivalent background in place of the degree requirement: four additional years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree plus two additional years of relevant experience.

Relevant customer-facing or public-facing experience is especially important. Graduate assistant experience may count toward professional experience if it is in a related area or similar type of work.

A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance are required.

Applicants should also be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is described as competitive with comparable institutions. This position is contingent upon funding.

UNLV offers a benefits package that includes paid time off, sick leave, holidays, medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, voluntary benefits, and no state income tax. Tuition discounts are available at NSHE schools, including discounts for spouses, domestic partners, and dependents.

Perks and Programs

Employees may also have access to recognition programs, athletics ticket discounts, statewide purchase discounts, RebelCard discounts on and off campus, free wellness programming, career growth opportunities, networking with colleagues, professional development, and a comprehensive onboarding program called Rebels: Onboard. Support is available for veteran applicants through UNLV’s veteran resources.
