Overview
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor-in-Residence in Criminal Justice. This role primarily focuses on teaching undergraduate and graduate courses with a specialization in policing, police administration, and officer wellness. The appointee will contribute to a proposed executive/professional master's degree in policing, as well as support the Executive Masters program in Crisis and Emergency Management, with dedicated time allocated for coordination efforts.
Responsibilities
- Deliver four courses each semester, including both in-person and online formats, covering topics related to policing and criminal justice.
- Engage in the development and coordination of a new graduate degree program in policing.
- Participate in and support the Executive Masters in Crisis and Emergency Management program.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA.
- Between one and three years of teaching experience.
- Practical experience working with public safety agencies.
- Preferred: experience teaching emergency management courses and knowledge of wellness programs for emergency management or police personnel.
