Job description

Role Summary

As the Dean of Faculty at Milan Institute, you will lead our academic division by managing educational programs, guiding faculty development, and guaranteeing a high-quality learning experience. This leadership role demands a visionary approach to uphold and enhance educational standards while steering the strategic academic direction of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all programs surpass accreditation benchmarks annually, including completion rates (NACCAS 50% or COE 60%), placement rates (minimum 70%), and licensure exam pass rates (minimum 70%, aiming for 90%).
  • Prepare students to be career-ready and actively support them throughout externship periods partnering closely with Career Services.
  • Maintain clean, welcoming educational facilities and promptly address faculty concerns within 24-48 hours.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, evaluate, and hold faculty accountable, ensuring effective adherence to policies and instructional quality for both on-campus and virtual classes.
  • Conduct at least six instructor observations annually, providing timely feedback and ensuring documentation compliance.
  • Lead monthly faculty meetings with proper agendas, minutes, and attendance records; oversee employer site visits and curriculum implementation.
  • Manage classroom resources, equipment functionality, and supply inventories to support educational needs.
  • Promote staff development through training, continuing education hours (minimum 12 annually), and maintain faculty retention with voluntary attrition under 20% yearly.
  • Ensure HR compliance in hiring, payroll, evaluations (90% annual completion), and termination processes.
  • Collaborate in campus leadership meetings, advisory committees, accreditation discussions, and prepare monthly completion projection reports.
  • Maintain transparent interdepartmental communication and regularly update required academic and administrative documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a license in cosmetology or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in academic administration or teaching, preferably in post-secondary education.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills essential for effective faculty and student engagement.
  • Commitment to student success, organized multitasking ability, customer service orientation, and results-driven mindset.
  • Upholds integrity and institutional core values such as accountability, service, communication, and growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and adaptability to educational technologies such as LMS and Student Information Systems.
  • Capability to coach faculty effectively and deliver thorough training.
