Position Overview
This role provides comprehensive administrative assistance to Vice Presidents and senior executives, independently managing sophisticated tasks efficiently and punctually. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to serve a broad network of internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with Johns Hopkins institutional and departmental policies is necessary.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced administrative and office support to top-level hospital leadership.
- Act as the main administrative liaison between executives and hospital departments as well as external partners.
- Maintain confidentiality to protect sensitive information and operational integrity.
- Develop, implement, and oversee departmental office procedures and systems, interpreting policies for others.
- Serve as the primary source of information and contact for department clients.
- Maintain professional growth through workshops, literature review, networking, and involvement in relevant professional groups.
- Coordinate complex calendars, organize meetings, schedule appointments, and manage travel arrangements.
- Effectively prioritize conflicting demands, respond proactively, and ensure project completion, often under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with no experience, or Associate's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or High School diploma/GED with 4 years of directly related experience.
- Experience in project coordination and managing databases.
- Thorough understanding of office management systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Competency in arranging travel logistics.
