Position Overview
This role is vital in maintaining hospital safety standards by ensuring thorough cleaning of the facility to meet healthcare requirements. The Environmental Services Technician I plays a key part in reducing the transmission of communicable diseases by diligently disinfecting all public and private spaces within the hospital. Responsibilities include cleaning administrative offices, outpatient care centers, restrooms, clinical equipment, floors, and corridors. Additional duties may involve stocking and delivering linens.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently perform assigned tasks by using established cleaning methods and techniques.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Uphold honesty, ethical conduct, and confidentiality related to medical, financial, and legal information.
- Communicate openly and foster positive working relationships.
- Utilize basic phone and computer skills, including email and text messaging, along with other electronic communication tools.
- Exhibit a strong attention to detail across all duties.
- Manage challenging situations professionally, including interactions with patients and medical staff.
- Consistently observe and apply safety precautions, such as using appropriate signage (e.g., "wet floor").
- Stay informed on regulatory and safety requirements relevant to all assigned tasks.
- Report any identified safety hazards promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English effectively.
Additional Information
Compensation ranges from a minimum of 16.25 to a maximum of 25.11 per hour, with pay adjusted according to experience and comparable roles. Salary discussions will take place during candidate screening if no fixed amount is displayed.
The hospital may adjust employee work schedules based on operational needs.
