About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and commercially focused Accountant to join a dynamic technology firm based in Cork, Ireland. This full-time position involves a blend of fundamental accounting duties alongside invoice processing, contract evaluation, and providing commercial insights. The role collaborates closely with finance, sales, legal, procurement, and senior management teams to guarantee financial precision, robust commercial controls, and streamlined business functions.

Key Duties
- Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial reports.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Reconcile balance sheets and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
- Complete VAT submissions, payroll, and other statutory filings timely.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
- Support annual audits by coordinating with external auditors.
- Maintain adherence to Irish accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Review, approve, and manage supplier invoices and customer billing accurately and promptly.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable and address related inquiries.
- Implement and enhance credit control procedures and invoice approval workflows.
- Assess commercial contracts for customers and suppliers, identifying financial and contractual risks.
- Verify that pricing, payment conditions, milestones, and obligations meet commercial standards.
- Collaborate with legal and sales teams to negotiate financial contract terms.
- Maintain a central register of contracts, track renewals, expirations, and commitments.
- Ensure contract terms are correctly reflected in financial documentation and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certified Accountant designation such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
- Minimum three years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Proven expertise in preparing management accounts.
- Experience in reviewing commercial contracts or supplier agreements is essential.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication capabilities and stakeholder management proficiency.
Additional Information
Location: Cork, Ireland. Employment is full-time with a hybrid working model comprising four days in the office and one day remote.
Salary offered is 60000 EUR per year.
