Job description

Role overview

This is a senior client leadership opportunity for a Canada-based Account Director, Client Strategy. The role is posted on behalf of a partner organization, which will handle applications and all later hiring steps. You will own strategic relationships with important B2B accounts, serving as the main executive contact and helping clients deliver measurable growth across complex, multi-channel marketing programs.

The position sits at the crossroads of strategy, commercial accountability, and cross-functional execution. You will lead integrated marketing plans across paid media, SEO, content, CRO, creative, and RevOps, with a clear focus on revenue impact. This role is suited to someone who can combine big-picture thinking with precise execution, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and drive retention, expansion, and overall account performance in a fast-moving, high-responsibility environment.

Accountabilities

  • Manage senior-level relationships across a portfolio of enterprise and fast-growing B2B accounts, acting as the principal strategic and executive contact.
  • Lead retention, renewal, upsell, and cross-sell efforts to improve net revenue retention and support long-term growth.
  • Shape and supervise integrated marketing strategies spanning paid media, SEO, content, CRO, creative, and RevOps so execution stays aligned across channels.
  • Take responsibility for the commercial health of accounts, including forecasting, margin protection, scope control, and renewal discussions.
  • Own executive reporting, quarterly business reviews, and strategic presentations that tie marketing performance to business outcomes and revenue results.
  • Coordinate internal cross-functional teams to keep delivery aligned, improve execution quality, and address risks before they escalate.
  • Spot account risks early, handle escalations, and protect client satisfaction and account health.
  • Coach strategists and delivery teams so strategic thinking and commercial discipline are strengthened across the business.

Requirements

  • 7 to 12 years of experience in agency, client services, or strategic account management, preferably with B2B SaaS or technology clients.
  • History of managing large and complex portfolios valued at $2M+ while owning renewals, upsell, and cross-sell outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of performance marketing areas such as paid media, SEO, content, CRO, creative, and RevOps.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders at VP, CMO, and CRO level.
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills and the ability to turn data and performance into clear business-facing narratives.
  • Solid commercial judgment, including experience with forecasts, margins, contracts, and renewal economics.
  • Ability to guide cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority in a fast-paced setting.
  • A strategic outlook paired with strong operational discipline and attention to detail.
  • Strong client-first mindset focused on relationship building and long-term value.
  • Growth-oriented approach with the ability to adapt quickly and use new tools, including AI-enabled workflows.

Benefits

  • Competitive base pay plus eligibility for performance-based annual bonus opportunities.
  • Broad health coverage for employees and families, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, supported by strong employer contributions.
  • Remote-first setup with flexibility to work from home.
  • Unlimited PTO policy with minimum vacation expectations, company holidays, a birthday day off, and a year-end shutdown period.
  • Mental health support through therapy access and wellness platforms.
  • Wellness support that includes virtual fitness programs, physical therapy assistance, and primary care access programs.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer matching.
  • Annual company retreat and ongoing team engagement experiences.
  • A high-trust, performance-driven culture with a strong emphasis on work-life integration.
