Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is offered on behalf of a partner organization that oversees the application process and all subsequent hiring steps. The partner is hiring a Business Development Manager focused on military markets in Germany.
The position is a strategic commercial role centered on growing the adoption of life-supporting medical technologies across government and military healthcare networks in EMEA. You will drive expansion of emergency and resuscitation solutions used by defense, public safety, and military customers. The role combines hands-on sales delivery with market-building responsibilities, including working through complex procurement environments, engaging senior stakeholders, and coordinating with distributors and internal regional teams. You will also need to manage international public-sector procurement routes, including tenders, RFIs, and defense frameworks. This is an autonomous, travel-heavy position for someone commercially driven and comfortable working in regulated, high-stakes settings where the outcomes can directly affect lives.
Key accountabilities
- Create and deliver a structured growth plan for government and military segments across EMEA, with the aim of increasing market share and revenue.
- Develop, sustain, and deepen relationships with distribution partners and key contacts in defense, emergency medical services, and public healthcare organizations.
- Deliver against sales targets while maintaining a healthy pipeline, accurate forecasting, and tight control of expenses through disciplined execution.
- Own RFIs, tenders, quotations, and other complex procurement activities within international government and military purchasing systems.
- Work in close coordination with regional and global colleagues to align strategy, exchange proven practices, and maintain consistent engagement across NATO and allied markets.
- Keep CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, updated to provide clear pipeline visibility and reliable tracking of sales activity.
- Prepare annual business plans for government and military segments and review performance regularly, making strategic updates as needed.
- Operate in full compliance with regulatory, ethical, and industry requirements across all commercial activity.
Candidate profile
The ideal professional will bring 2-3+ years of field sales experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, or capital equipment. A background in the military, EMS, or clinical space, such as paramedic, nurse, or combat medic, is strongly preferred.
Experience working with distributors or channel partners in complex sales environments is important, as is familiarity with public-sector or military procurement processes, ideally within NATO-related or international frameworks. Candidates should have a strong record of outperforming sales goals in self-directed, high-pressure roles, along with practical use of CRM tools like Salesforce for account and pipeline management.
Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for engaging senior stakeholders across public and defense sectors. English fluency is required, and Italian and/or French would be a strong advantage. This role also requires a willingness to travel extensively across Southern and Mediterranean Europe, up to approximately 70%.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary in the range of €65,000 to €80,000, plus a performance-linked bonus.
- The chance to represent life-saving medical technologies used in emergency and defense situations.
- A high-impact position that contributes directly to outcomes in military and public safety environments.
- International responsibility across EMEA markets and NATO-aligned organizations.
- Extensive travel across Europe.
- Strong professional growth in a global healthcare technology business.
- Support from experienced regional and global commercial teams.
- Exposure to complex, high-value procurement processes in government and defense sectors.
