About Crosscare and the Role
Crosscare, a registered charity and the social care agency for the Dublin Diocese, is dedicated to serving the community with a spirit of servant leadership. Through its Homeless, Youth, Information, and Advocacy Teams, Crosscare provides compassionate support to individuals and families facing significant challenges, emphasizing love, respect, and excellence.
This position is based at the Ballybough Youth Service in Dublin and offers a permanent full-time role with a 37.5-hour workweek scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement youth programs tailored especially for young people facing hardships in Ballybough.
- Devote at least 70% of working time engaging directly with youth, focusing on disadvantaged groups.
- Ensure all youth programs align with established Youth Work Processes and Models.
- Work a minimum of three late evenings weekly and additional weekends as necessary.
- Organize residential trips as part of the youth work initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings and represent the Youth Service on committees when requested.
- Submit all required documentation punctually and assist in grant applications in consultation with the line manager.
- Operate within Crosscare’s ethos, values, and strategic objectives.
- Engage in ongoing professional training and development.
- Effectively manage challenging behaviors and situations encountered during youth work.
- Develop and nurture positive relationships within the community and collaborate with other local projects in Ballybough.
- Perform administrative duties including record-keeping on designated reporting forms.

Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a third-level qualification in youth work or a related field.
- Experience handling Child Safeguarding concerns is essential.
- A clean driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: €38,769 to €57,011, dependent on experience.
