Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join our team within Beaconsfield State School. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver workplace health and safety advisory services, providing guidance to school leadership.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to safeguard school environments.
- Develop and implement WHS policies and procedures and lead training sessions to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate the activities of the Workplace Health and Safety Committee effectively.
- Investigate workplace incidents thoroughly and oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor adherence to WHS legislation and standards across assigned schools.
- Manage rehabilitation and return-to-work programs, collaborating with medical professionals, managers, and affected employees.
- Provide timely WHS reports and assist with school safety reviews.
- Promote and maintain a proactive safety and wellbeing culture within the school community.
Work Locations and Time Allocation
- Beaconsfield State School - 35% FTE
- Mackay West State School - 35% FTE
- Dundula State School - 5% FTE
- Seaforth State School - 5% FTE
- Nebo State School - 10% FTE
- Mackay North State School - 10% FTE
Additional Information
- Reporting: This role reports to the appointed Principal of the nominated school.
