Key Responsibilities

• Deliver workplace health and safety advisory services, providing guidance to school leadership.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits to safeguard school environments.
• Develop and implement WHS policies and procedures and lead training sessions to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate the activities of the Workplace Health and Safety Committee effectively.
• Investigate workplace incidents thoroughly and oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor adherence to WHS legislation and standards across assigned schools.
• Manage rehabilitation and return-to-work programs, collaborating with medical professionals, managers, and affected employees.
• Provide timely WHS reports and assist with school safety reviews.
• Promote and maintain a proactive safety and wellbeing culture within the school community.

Work Locations and Time Allocation

• Beaconsfield State School - 35% FTE
• Mackay West State School - 35% FTE
• Dundula State School - 5% FTE
• Seaforth State School - 5% FTE
• Nebo State School - 10% FTE
• Mackay North State School - 10% FTE

Additional Information

• Reporting: This role reports to the appointed Principal of the nominated school.
