About the Role
Join Park Hyatt Auckland as the Event Sales and Planning Executive specializing in Weddings & Social events. This full-time on-site role is based in Auckland CBD and involves overseeing the sales and meticulous planning of weddings and other social gatherings. You will play a key role in delivering a flawless and memorable experience that aligns with the exceptional standards expected by the hotel's distinguished clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the solicitation and execution of all wedding and social events, as well as additional events as needed according to demand.
- Ensure superior customer service, providing a personalized and smooth experience for potential and confirmed clients, thus upholding the hotel's prestigious reputation.
- Handle accounts receivable operations for clients, including timely invoicing, payment processing, and resolving billing issues.
- Organize and oversee the annual Park Hyatt Auckland Wedding Showcase event.
- Keep abreast of market trends and competitors’ offerings in the wedding and social event sector.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and licensing regulations relevant to events.
- Work collaboratively with hotel management to align wedding event initiatives with broader business goals.
- Develop the yearly Wedding Strategy plan with measurable KPIs to drive the hotel's success in this area.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of one year’s experience in a wedding-focused role, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and delivering high-quality customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to build and maintain enduring relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally ensuring client expectations meet operational capabilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of wedding industry trends and best practices.
- Effective communication and adept problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including weekends, to support event operations.
- Qualifications relevant to event management, with a special focus on weddings.
- Legal authorization to work in New Zealand is mandatory.
