Wealth Management Multi Asset Private Markets Investments Analyst

About the Role

The Multi Asset Private Markets Investment Team (MAPM-IT), part of the Global Alternative Investment Solutions (GAIS) division within JPMorgan Chase & Co's Asset & Wealth Management, focuses on discovering, evaluating, and overseeing private investment funds and co-investments. This team covers strategies across private market sectors such as buyouts, growth equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure. Operating from New York, with additional offices in London and Mumbai, the team has evaluated and onboarded over 300 funds representing client commitments exceeding $100 billion.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior team members in identifying, analyzing, and tracking private investment funds and selective direct co-investments.
• Participate in meetings with both potential and current fund managers to gain insights and build relationships.
• Develop specialized knowledge of private market trends and maintain awareness of industry developments.
• Conduct comprehensive investment assessments, including evaluation of fund managers’ historical performance, operational metrics, cash flows, and value generation capabilities.
• Produce detailed investment documents such as presentations for investment committees.
• Monitor investments post-commitment by maintaining thorough documentation, attending manager update calls, and contributing to client reporting.
• Travel occasionally as required for business purposes.

Candidate Requirements

• At least one year of experience in investment banking, investment due diligence, portfolio management, or a related investment capacity.
• Demonstrated strong motivation, diligence, and a keen interest in alternative investments and private markets.
• Proficient quantitative skills with solid comprehension of fundamental corporate finance principles.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities suitable for representing the firm in internal and external discussions.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and eagerness to learn new concepts.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Technical proficiency, including intermediate to advanced skills in AI/large language models, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
