Position Overview

The Vice President of Service Operations leads the overall performance, consistency, and advancement of Albireo Energy's service department. This executive role drives the service operating framework, key performance indicators, workforce development, management coaching, and the delivery of innovative service solutions. The goal is to ensure operational excellence and customer loyalty, stimulating profitable recurring revenue growth across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance enterprise-wide service financial and operational metrics such as gross margin, productivity, customer retention, and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with leadership from divisions, sales, human resources, and service managers to improve service performance through operational discipline and talent development.
  • Conduct regular operational and financial reviews, identify improvement areas, and enforce accountability.
  • Implement strategies to optimize service profitability, technician efficiency, customer engagement, and execution consistency.
  • Oversee and refine Albireo Energy’s service operating model, including staffing, workflows, support systems, and performance standards.
  • Set and maintain uniform service processes and reporting tools to support quality and continuous improvement.
  • Drive adoption of standardized procedures and digital tools to boost operational effectiveness and scalability.
  • Lead initiatives for increased productivity, responsiveness, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Foster a consistent, professional customer service experience organization-wide.
  • Work with divisional heads to enhance technician utilization and service execution.
  • Coordinate with Managed Services Center to unify national service delivery and technical support processes.
  • Lead development and mentorship programs for service managers and technical staff, including onboarding, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Create career development frameworks and competency standards for technicians and other service roles.
  • Partner with HR and other leaders to recruit, develop, and retain skilled service professionals aligned with demand.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer priority.
  • Innovate and scale Albireo’s intelligent service offerings integrating analytics, AI, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support deployment and adoption of advanced service solutions.
  • Establish operational procedures to facilitate seamless transition from projects to ongoing service relationships, improving customer retention and revenue growth.
  • Drive strategy development and organizational initiatives with executive leadership to support company-wide service excellence and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience managing substantial, multi-location service operations.
  • Proven track record in managing dispersed service teams in Building Automation, HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar technical service industries.
  • Expertise in developing enterprise-wide standards, operational processes, and performance management systems.
  • Strong background in KPI-driven operational excellence using Lean, Continuous Improvement, or equivalent methodologies.
  • Experience in coaching and developing service leaders and technicians through structured training and succession planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership in digital transformation initiatives within service operations.
  • Robust financial skills with experience enhancing service profitability, productivity, and margins.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and executive influencing skills enabling alignment across dispersed teams.
  • Ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range between $185,000 and $280,000 annually depending on experience.
