Job description
Role overview
This leadership position is responsible for steering the APAC region for the Network Deployment & Operations (ND&O) business unit. The role calls for a commercially sharp and strategically minded sales executive who can expand the region’s business performance, deepen customer partnerships, and guide execution across a rapidly changing market.
The business has traditionally been known for its field test and measurement offerings for telecom networks. In recent years, it has broadened significantly as demand has risen across data centers, cloud infrastructure, and data center interconnect environments. That shift is opening major growth potential across telecom operators, hyperscalers, cloud providers, enterprise infrastructure, and emerging network ecosystems throughout Asia-Pacific.
Based on the chosen candidate’s background and experience, the position may be designated at either Vice President or Senior Director level.
Commercial leadership
- Own the APAC commercial plan for the ND&O business, including bookings, revenue expansion, pipeline creation, and targeted market growth.
- Create and implement go-to-market strategies for the region in line with global priorities and changing opportunities across telecom, cloud, and data center environments.
- Improve forecast reliability, sales process discipline, operational execution, and strategic account planning across APAC.
- Spot and pursue new opportunities tied to data center expansion, fiber network buildout, high-speed transport, and the evolution of DCI markets.
Strategic customer engagement
- Develop and sustain executive relationships with priority customers such as telecom operators, hyperscalers, cloud infrastructure companies, strategic enterprise accounts, and regional partners.
- Manage sophisticated sales cycles that involve technically complex solutions and multiple stakeholders.
- Support strategic deals from first engagement through negotiation, closure, and ongoing account growth.
Team leadership and organizational development
- Guide, coach, and grow a high-performing APAC sales team.
- Create a work culture centered on accountability, collaboration, customer orientation, and strong execution.
- Mentor sales leaders and account teams on strategic selling, opportunity qualification, customer positioning, and senior-level engagement.
- Work with global leadership and cross-functional partners to support growth and talent development across the region.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Operations, Customer Success, and executive leadership to align market needs with product direction and commercial delivery.
- Bring back market feedback and customer insights to help shape business priorities and future growth initiatives.
- Represent the APAC region as a key strategic contributor within the global organization.
Channel and ecosystem development
- Build and broaden the regional network of channel partners, resellers, integrators, and strategic alliances.
- Create partnerships that improve market reach and support long-term regional growth.
- Ensure partner strategy remains aligned with broader commercial objectives.
Qualifications
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline. An MBA is viewed favorably.
Applicants should bring at least 12 years of advancing sales leadership experience in telecommunications, networking, optical infrastructure, test & measurement, data center, cloud infrastructure, or similar technology areas. A strong record of leading complex B2B technology sales teams across APAC is essential, along with a deep understanding of the region’s telecom and infrastructure landscape, market dynamics, customer environments, and channel structures.
Experience handling strategic enterprise and service provider accounts with long sales cycles and complex commercial discussions is required. The role also calls for experience leading distributed teams across multiple countries and cultures, plus a strong executive presence that can influence customers, partners, and internal stakeholders at senior levels. Strong business judgment, communication, negotiation, and operational leadership skills are important. International travel may be required.
Preferred experience
- Background in network deployment & operations, field test & measurement, optical networking, DCI, or related telecom infrastructure segments.
- Experience serving telecom operators, hyperscalers, cloud infrastructure providers, or mission-critical network environments.
- Working knowledge of fiber networks, high-speed transport, cloud infrastructure, and data center expansion trends.
- Track record in strategic regional account management, solution selling, and multi-stakeholder commercial engagement.
- Ability to operate effectively in a global matrixed organization.
Leadership profile
The ideal candidate is commercially focused, strategically oriented, comfortable in technically complex and fast-moving environments, highly self-directed, and strongly execution-led. They should be credible with both business and technical audiences, collaborative across regions and functions, and motivated by long-term customer relationships and sustainable growth.
Why this role stands out
This is a chance to lead a strategically important business area positioned at the junction of telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, and next-generation network evolution. The role offers a visible opportunity to shape APAC growth strategy while contributing to the expansion of technologies that support the future of global network and data center infrastructure.
