Job description

Role Overview

A leading industrial manufacturer is looking for a Vice President of Operations to take charge of one of its most important business units. This senior leadership position spans two manufacturing sites and nearly 400 team members in total. The operation runs in a complex, low-volume, high-mix environment, so the role calls for strong operational judgment, leadership depth, and a focus on continuous improvement.

The position is a succession opportunity created by an internal promotion, giving the new leader the chance to step into a high-performing division with strong visibility at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide both strategic direction and day-to-day operational leadership across two facilities. You will oversee manufacturing, production, quality, safety, maintenance, scheduling, logistics, and improvement initiatives, while also guiding an experienced leadership group toward consistent execution and accountability.

You will be expected to strengthen performance across operational, financial, and customer metrics through KPI management and process enhancement. In addition, you will work closely with executive leadership on strategic priorities, capital planning, and long-term growth plans, while maintaining an active and visible presence at both locations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including senior-level operations responsibility. Prior experience managing large, complex manufacturing operations, ideally across more than one facility, is important.

Success in this role also depends on a track record of improving operations, building leadership capability, and using financial insight to manage budgets, capital spending, and operating measures. Experience in low-volume, high-mix, or similarly complex production settings is strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required, and a degree in engineering or business is preferred.
