Job description
About BlueThrone
BlueThrone is a remote-first company focused on scaling a diverse portfolio of mobile applications across various markets and categories globally. The company has successfully acquired apps with established product-market fit, transforming them into leaders in their respective categories. With over 80 million organic downloads, 22.5 million monthly active users, and a steadily growing annual recurring revenue (ARR) supported by six strategic acquisitions, BlueThrone stands at the forefront of mobile app investment and development.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly driven and challenge-focused Vice President of Finance to join our global team and steer BlueThrone's financial growth trajectory. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker who not only excels with numbers but also acts as a proactive business partner in shaping financial decisions and company direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and drive the group-wide financial model, budgets, and rolling forecasts.
- Analyze portfolio app data to extract meaningful unit economics (LTV, payback period, cohort profitability, ROAS) for executive decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with the founders and COO to decide on capital allocation concerning app investments and acquisitions.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate company financial health and operational effectiveness.
- Lead financial underwriting, due diligence processes, and deal modelling for acquisition targets to support negotiation and closure.
- Manage post-acquisition financial integration into the group framework.
- Maintain relationships with banks and lenders while structuring and managing debt financing to support acquisitions.
- Head investor relations and board reporting, aiding future funding rounds.
- Oversee group consolidation, multi-jurisdictional financial reporting, treasury operations, and cash flow management.
- Implement and manage tax strategies including transfer pricing, VAT, withholding, and cross-border structuring compliance.
- Ensure the group remains audit-ready through continuous financial oversight and regulatory reporting.
- Lead and mentor the internal finance team, fostering an environment of accountability, clarity, and cooperation within a fully remote, global setup.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
- Extensive experience in the mobile applications sector, consumer subscription, or tech-related B2B subscription business environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and financial controlling across diverse international jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of financial and legal operations for multi-entity, global business structures.
- Advanced capabilities in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic business planning.
- Detail-oriented with hands-on engagement in finance tasks rather than purely supervisory work.
- Exceptional communication skills suited for a remote, asynchronous, and international team.
- Innovative and proactive builder who establishes necessary systems and frameworks from the ground up.
- Legal education or experience is considered an advantage.
- Flexibility to work within a global team primarily spanning Asia to Europe time zones.
Organizational Interaction
- Direct collaboration with the CFO and founders as direct supervisor.
- Tight partnership with the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
- Externally liaise with investors, banks, regulators, and relevant service providers.
Equal Opportunities
BlueThrone is committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants across all demographics and backgrounds. The company provides reasonable accommodations during the application and interview processes to ensure equal opportunity. We encourage candidates to disclose any required adjustments.
