Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced global leader to take charge as the Vice President of Facilities, Security & Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) at Quantinuum. This key position involves managing the company’s international real estate holdings, facilities, physical security measures, and overall HSE programs. The successful candidate will ensure operational excellence, compliance with regulations, and scalable infrastructure to support fast growth and pioneering research environments. Collaboration across various business units is essential to maintain safe, secure, and top-performing workplaces while balancing cost, risk, and sustainability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement global strategies for facilities and real estate aligned with business expansion and innovation goals.
  • Manage processes including site acquisition, lease negotiations, capital project oversight, and portfolio optimization.
  • Lead the planning and functioning of specialized environments such as laboratories, cleanrooms, and highly technical facilities.
  • Drive initiatives for cost control, vendor performance, and long-term asset management.
  • Ensure reliability and uptime of vital infrastructure systems like HVAC, power, and laboratory equipment, partnering with engineering and R&D for experimental setup support.
  • Set standards and protocols for maintenance, equipment lifecycle, and capacity planning.
  • Develop and implement global physical and cybersecurity strategies, including access control, surveillance, and incident response to safeguard personnel and intellectual assets.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, legal, and compliance teams to deliver integrated risk mitigation.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive HSE programs that comply with all relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture across labs, manufacturing sites, and corporate environments.
  • Oversee risk assessments, audits, training programs, and incident management for HSE.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing, cross-disciplinary global team managing facilities, security, and safety operations.
  • Develop policies, key performance indicators, and governance frameworks to uphold operational standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on risk management plans, business continuity, and enterprise resilience.
  • Manage budgets, capital expenditures, and maintain vendor relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Over 20 years of leadership experience spanning facilities, security, and/or HSE functions.
  • U.S. Person status is mandatory, defined as U.S. citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, or persons granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Must comply with U.S. national security requirements: not a People's Republic of China or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Attributes

  • Demonstrated success in managing global, multi-site operations within highly regulated or technical environments.
  • Advanced degrees such as MBA, MS, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting research labs, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or quantum technology environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of global regulatory frameworks including OSHA, ISO, and environmental compliance.
  • Proven ability to scale infrastructure in fast-growing, innovation-centric organizations.
  • Expertise in physical security and enterprise risk management.
  • Experience leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams simultaneously.
