Role Overview
The Vice President of Creative at RedPeg leads the agency’s creative direction and guides a six-person team comprising design, art direction, writing, and content disciplines. This role is a blend of leadership and hands-on creative production, demanding a visionary thinker who consistently generates innovative, original ideas that surpass client briefs. The VP will collaborate closely with account leadership, strategy, production teams, executive producers, technical directors, fabrication partners, and freelancers to execute experiential campaigns flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and uphold the agency’s creative vision and quality standards across all projects, ensuring work is breakthrough and cohesive.
- Act as the primary source for bold, innovative ideas, pushing the team beyond conventional solutions.
- Inculcate a culture of innovation agency-wide, inspiring cross-departmental design thinking and curiosity.
- Stay updated on cutting-edge experiential marketing trends and technologies, integrating emerging formats like immersive, AR/VR/XR into the agency’s work.
- Engage directly in concept creation, art direction, and key deliverables, especially on flagship pitches and campaigns.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a creative team of six, fostering growth and excellence.
- Refine and challenge creative concepts, visuals, and programming quality consistently.
- Collaborate with sales, strategy, and accounts to contribute creative input in new business acquisition and client growth.
- Be the senior creative liaison with clients, crafting experiences aligned with their business goals and brand challenges.
- Manage team workflows by prioritizing projects, assigning tasks, establishing deadlines, and balancing workload across live event campaigns.
- Support producers and project managers in budget management, scheduling, and monitoring feasibility.
- Coordinate communication between Creative and Production teams to streamline processes.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with freelancers, vendors, and talent acquisition efforts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and represent Creative leadership in agency-wide initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in experiential marketing and large-scale live events with exposure to theatrical, live music, touring, technology innovations, multimedia, and hybrid events.
- At least 5 years in creative leadership roles, comfortable in a player-coach capacity balancing management with active creative involvement.
- A visionary and original thinker who is endlessly curious and adept at spotting emerging trends and turning them into groundbreaking ideas.
- Strong strategic acumen capable of scaling innovative concepts within a strategic framework.
- Extensive experience in experiential design, with comprehensive knowledge of production, fabrication processes, timelines, and terminology.
- Proficiency in video production, content creation, writing, copywriting, scriptwriting, and Run of Show development.
- Experience managing creative aspects of B2B and B2C event marketing across diverse sectors and tactics.
- Deep understanding of performance/installations trends, artistry, and technology and the ability to originate unique concepts.
- Proven track record of enhancing brands through event creative, strong client engagement skills, with a portfolio demonstrating impact; channel strategy and digital experience highly advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to travel for onsite client activations.
