Job description
About the Company
United Flow Technologies (UFT) was founded in July 2021 to invest in the municipal and industrial water and wastewater sector. Through partnerships with leading businesses, the company is building a nationwide platform that provides process equipment, pumps, automation and control solutions, along with other related offerings. The organization is still expanding and is focused on forming strategic partnerships that help deliver clean water across the country.
Role Overview
The Vice President of M&A will work closely with the Senior Vice President of M&A and the executive leadership team to strengthen the acquisition pipeline, connect with owners of target businesses, develop trust-based relationships, negotiate transactions, and support the broader M&A function through successful deal execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Source acquisition opportunities by identifying and contacting the owners of companies that align with UFT’s strategic direction.
- Develop strong, professional relationships with sellers and their leadership teams, including CEOs and CFOs, while communicating clearly, promptly, and respectfully throughout the deal process.
- Stay informed on industry movement, the competitive environment, and potential targets to help shape UFT’s long-term portfolio strategy.
- Lead and support negotiations on deal terms, pricing, and transaction structures with prospective sellers.
- Evaluate transaction value, opportunity, and risk by keeping key value drivers and risk controls in mind, with emphasis on financial performance and operations.
- Assist with post-merger integration so acquired businesses are absorbed effectively and the integration team can benefit from knowledge of the transaction process and target-company culture.
Experience and Qualifications
- Strong executive-level communication skills across in-person meetings, phone conversations, video calls, and written correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal ability, with a strategic, big-picture mindset balanced by strong attention to detail.
- Proven strengths in creative problem-solving, negotiation, teamwork, adaptability, and a solid work ethic.
- Hands-on background in data analysis, valuation, accounting, and corporate law to understand key transaction drivers and related risks.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a closely related discipline.
Additional Information
This role requires weekly travel of approximately 30% to 50%.
