Job description

Role overview

Join a major Australian infrastructure business as it advances a multi-billion-dollar capital program that will help define the nation’s energy future. This position is more than a conventional corporate finance assignment: it sits close to the front end of large infrastructure investments and growth initiatives, working alongside project, commercial, and executive teams to shape decisions before projects are sanctioned and delivered.

With ongoing access to a steady flow of strategic growth opportunities, you will help guide where capital is allocated and how long-term value is built. For a professional aiming to step into infrastructure or energy leadership, this role brings together transactions, strategy, and operational impact in a single platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed financial analysis and valuation work for major infrastructure projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Work with project teams from the earliest stages so commercial priorities are built into the full investment lifecycle.
  • Take ownership of the corporate valuation model and oversee the quality of valuation and investment case work.
  • Support capital allocation decisions, investment governance, and broader strategic choices.
  • Engage closely with executive leaders, board-level stakeholders, and sophisticated investors.

Candidate profile

The ideal background will likely come from investment banking, infrastructure investing, project finance, strategic finance in a capital-intensive business, or a relevant Big 4 advisory team. The role calls for strong analytical rigour together with commercial influence and a long-term strategic mindset.

  • Advanced capability in corporate finance, valuation, and financial modelling.
  • Experience assessing major investments, transactions, and capital projects.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Clear interest in strategy, infrastructure, and value creation over the long term.

What makes this opportunity stand out

This is a distinctive chance to move beyond transactional finance into a position that directly shapes investment decisions and commercial outcomes across a long-duration infrastructure and energy pipeline. The scope spans corporate finance, strategy, and operational partnership, making it a strong springboard for future leadership roles in the energy transition.
