Overview
The Vice President (VP) of Housing, reporting directly to the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer, plays a pivotal role in overseeing Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) housing initiatives. This leadership position is responsible for the efficient administration and strategic direction of KCDC’s affordable housing offerings, including Section 8 rental assistance, Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA), alongside comprehensive construction, maintenance, and repair operations. The role also includes supervision of external contractors involved in demolition, modernization, and new development projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and guide the implementation of housing programs under KCDC.
- Manage affordable housing and rental assistance programs to ensure effective service delivery.
- Oversee construction, maintenance, repair, and modernization activities related to housing projects.
- Supervise external contractors engaged in demolition and construction tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, social work administration or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience managing housing programs within large public housing authorities, non-profit firms, or private property management organizations.
- A minimum of three years in a supervisory role.
- Master’s Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base salary starting at $96,000 per year, dependent on experience, complemented by an attractive benefits package.
