Role Overview

The Vice President of Procurement will architect and lead Dyne’s comprehensive sourcing and procurement operations to optimize value from external expenditures. This leadership position entails crafting organization-wide source-to-pay strategies, implementing policies, and overseeing procurement systems aligned with corporate goals and regulatory mandates. Key responsibilities include managing strategic supplier relationships, negotiating complex contracts, and developing scalable procurement processes that support company growth. Reporting, cross-department collaboration, and insights provision are vital to empower effective decision-making and maintain a lasting organizational impact. This role is based in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long-range procurement strategy aligned with company objectives.
• Create scalable end-to-end source-to-pay frameworks, including governance and policies.
• Design organizational structures and staffing models tailored to procurement needs.
• Collaborate with IT to select, implement, and refine procurement platforms integrated into enterprise systems.
• Lead compliance initiatives, ensuring audit readiness and maintaining documentation standards.
• Manage high-value sourcing projects including RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract facilitation.
• Work closely with Finance, Legal, and business units to ensure procurement alignment with financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide governance, methodology, and strategic oversight for enterprise purchasing activities.
• Foster strong cross-functional relationships to encourage adoption and compliance with procurement standards.
• Generate regular reports on cost savings, procurement pipeline, risks, and performance metrics.
• Standardize supplier selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation procedures.
• Oversee strategic supplier partnerships through ongoing business reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
• Act as liaison between internal teams and external suppliers to address issues and align expectations.
• Advance corporate social responsibility initiatives including sustainability, supplier diversity, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Ensure procurement activities adhere to corporate policies, regulatory mandates, and industry standards.
• Support external reporting and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosures as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Extensive experience with 20+ years in purchasing/procurement, including a minimum of 8 years in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector.
• Proficient with ERP, MRP, and procurement systems and processes.
• Demonstrated success working within global matrix organizations.
• Highly self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills.
• Strong leadership abilities managing complex, high-value projects from inception through execution.
• Skilled in preparing timely and accurate reports, presentations, and performance metrics.
• Proven negotiation skills with a track record of strategic supplier management.
• Experienced leading transformational efforts in high-growth environments.
• Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position in Massachusetts is $272,000 to $340,000 USD annually. Final compensation will take into account qualifications including education level, experience, and demonstrated competencies.
